I am a warm, sensitive and passionate psychologist, and I value working collaboratively and respectfully with people. I place importance on holding in mind the influence and impact of challenging circumstances, both historical and current, on the nature of the difficulties people experience. I therefore explore with my clients the strength and expertise they have to guide change in their lives.
Many of the people with whom I meet identify a hope for things to be different and a wish to begin exploring this further in a safe space. I have experience of offering psychological therapy to people experiencing a range of difficulties including low mood and depression, low self-worth and self-esteem, eating disorders and negative body image, distressing and overwhelming feelings of anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, relational and interpersonal difficulties, phobias, post-traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, psychosis and stress.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I am skilled in offering a range of specialist psychological therapies, guided by the current evidence base. The approaches that I draw from include cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), compassion focussed therapy, mindfulness approaches, systemic therapy and narrative therapy. By drawing from a range of different therapy techniques, I value being able to work integratively and to tailor the approach I use depending on your individual needs.
An initial session with me would involve starting an assessment process where we would aim to come to a joint understanding of what the difficulties are that have led you to consider therapy, alongside beginning to explore what change may look like for you. This would lead us to establishing meaningful goals for our sessions together.
Please make contact with me to discuss how I can help you.
